    **** FINISHED: 1/32 Ta152H-1 Stab/JG301 - Favourite Aircraft of All Time GB

Wayne, I was looking at other photos of the NASM Ta-152 H and another enthusiast said he had talked to Jerry Crandall about the Jumo 213E that is in Paul Allen's collection. Jerry's take on the cowling color was that it was RLM83 that has faded over the years. Seems logical. What do you...

Mikewint, So the identity of that motor is verified? Cool! What is the reference so I can look it up? Cheers! Bill

    **** FINISHED: 1/32 Ta152H-1 Stab/JG301 - Favourite Aircraft of All Time GB

Hi Dan! Thanks for the info! I’ll check some paint chips I have at home for RLM 70. Then I’ll compare that to the photos of the Jumo 213 at Paul Allen’s museum. I’d bet that that motor is from 150167, although I haven’t seen any documentation that verifies that. Thanks again! Bill

Wayne, outstanding work! I’m working on a scale model of Green 9 also and I was wondering what colors you used for the upper surfaces? I’m assuming the camo scheme is RLM 82/83 over 76, but what color is the cowling? I must say it gives the right shading like the photos of W.Nr. 150167 in...

    Ta-152 H Aileron Questions

Thanks Chuter! I’ve seen that attach point before and now I know what it was for. But, if the aileron control horn was in line with the tab rod, did the horn have a slot in it for the rod to pass thru and connect to the hinge?. I can’t quite picture how it all connected. I know the control...

    Ta-152 H Flap Question

Thanks Chuter! That’s what they looked like to me as well. I haven’t found anything in my books that said production Ta-152 H-1’s would have flaps from the dispersed woodworking shops, so maybe a Ta could have either metal or wooden flaps? I’d expect that since the NASM Ta-152 is mostly...

    Ta-152 H Aileron Questions

Hello, Just a couple of questions about the Ta-152’s ailerons. The first is easy: they were of metal (or wood?) construction and fabric covered, right? I’ve seen some drawings that make them look metal or hard covered and not fabric covered. The second question is more technical. Looking at...

    Ta-152 H Flap Question

Hello all, I’m looking at building a scale model of the Ta-152 and need some guidance on the flap construction. Were they made out of wood or aluminum? The photo of the wings hanging at the Garber Facility is inconclusive since it was sprayed with zinc chromate. I read in Green’s book (I...

    Me-109 Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Question

it looks that way. The aft fuselage is different on the G's and K so the hinge is totally different. But it looks like hinge point seems consistent. Thanks everyone! Bill

    Me-109 Horizontal Stabilizer Trim Question

Thanks for the drawings, Steve. They shed a little light but I'm looking for a measurement or distance as to where the stabilizer hinge point was. Something like "x mm forward from the elevator hinge" or "x% chord". Hopefully that makes sense. I may have to find a scale drawing and try to...
