Hello all!
I decided I need a place to compile all my findings from analyzing the many technical drawings I scanned from the Smithsonian's microfilm collection. It would be pretty difficult to find a more confusing aircraft to research or model, because of decisions made by Martin, the...
Hi all,
I've already posted about my B-26 research efforts elsewhere in the forum, but I figured it was about time to make a thread for my model itself since it's starting to take shape. For those who haven't seen that thread, I spent the last six months or so scanning microfilm rolls I...
Hi y'all,
I've been on this forum for a while and started having a lot of free time over the summer, so I finally bit the bullet and decided to try building model kits in real life after years of making liveries and 3d models.
Previous attempts/Not super relevant stuff
Now, this isn't...
Hi all,
I purchased a Snap-Tite Monogram B-26B-2 kit earlier in the year and decided to give it some upgrades and convert it into a USAAF B-26-MA or possibly an RAF Marauder Mk. I (haven't committed to a livery yet or bought the paints). I've purchased the Eduard metal landing gear set, and...
UPDATE: This thread has been discontinued and is full of incorrect information. For more current (and more accurate) information, see the thread B-26 Engineering Data/Technical Information (From Martin's Own Blueprints).
Hi all,
One of the multiple projects I've been trying to work on recently...
Our local modelling club, the ACT Scale Modellers' Society, has its annual exhibition in November and one theme is the 75th anniversary of 1942. I'm contributing a number of 1/72 models of aircraft of the Battle of Midway but have problems finding some information on the very early B-26s and...
I've been digging around realized that there doesn't seem to be a manual for the Martin B-26.
What I'm looking for, in particular, is page 563 (figure 534)...
Anyone have this, by chance?
I understand that the F4U and B-26 Marauder construction involved a lot of spot-welding in place of rivets.
Was it any more difficult repair battle damage (replace aluminum sheeting, etc.) on spot-welded areas than rivets? At least with rivets, if you have to drill out the rivets you can see...
Second bomber attempt. If the markings on it look different, it's because the original decals fell apart in the water, and I was forced to replace with what I had on hand, and hand paint the rest.
