Glossy black primer+gloss finish

Two coats of duralumin

Compared with completed Hellcat(Glossy black+Chromium)

This test hasn't finished yet.
I consult more experienced model makers to gain knowledge.

That's easily the best looking prop hub I've seen today!

This cat would be at the status describes below, and I wonder whether the wing of Tom Cheek climbed into was folded and also whether the canopy was closed

[fubar57]

If it needed to be fuel up, the left wing would need to be swung out. The filler cap was positioned externally on the upper port wing-fuselage fillet where the wing meets the fuselage side. As for whether the canopy was opened or closed, no mention was made in the above but when you are telling a story about travelling, you say you got in your truck and drove away. No mention of you opening the door first...............I guess

Nicely done so far!

Problem seemed to be resolved:the gap difference between open(canopy)-open(fuselage) and close(canopy)-open(fuselage) is quite small and I consider it's enough to be ignored.
And the original gap of the kit is reasonable
A restored FM-1 can explain this:
Look at this gap between the fuselage and the canopy

Update:
Recently the parts are all cut off and stored in four boxes. Parts of the same location of the plane will be stored together.

The PE from Eduard can be fitted to this kit but it still needs some modifications:

The landing gear is ready for painting:

The fitness was tested by dry fitting:
You should make sure the back panel in this position(marked by red circle)

The seat and the safety belt:

Beauty. I have bigger variations of those plastic boxes for my spares; each box for a different Air Force

The wooden label and the squadron insignia are formed for test:

The ones I recall seeing were sort of a green apple color.

Don't forget the screens in the oil coolers.

After a "happy" time dealing with the fitness, the screens are now fitted.
If you use Eduard's PE,you should dig deeper and then sand the scar of the previous step.

The clear parts are masked.

Looking good. Probably too late now but for future reference this is the Tamiya mix I found for Willow Green, which was also said to be used for oxygen tanks

X08 Lemon Yellow, X14 Sky Blue, X19 Smoke...yes, Smoke, 1/1/1. It gave me this colour

Well it's just the right time: the painting process is about to start.
