That is correct for the D-9.....while the D-11 still had the MG151 20mm cannons in the inner wing position the mid wing position now carried Mk.108 30mm cannons and now reintroduced the rectangular fairings on the upper wings to cover the breech of the Mk108's.
Hmm if that is correct, would the FW190F-8 have the fairings?? my model does show them but the only guns avail are 2 long barrels for the outer 20mm not the short mk108. AND the F-8 normally only carried the inner 20mm and cowling mounted 13mm.

A quote from Jerry Crandall regarding the fairings.....
"When the MK 108 30 mm cannon was introduced in the outboard wing position on the A-7 through A-9, a streamlined fairing had to be installed on the top of the wing to make room for the large cannon breach. Eventually most A-8s and A-9s and even F-8s and F-9s had these outboard fairing as Focke-Wulf was trying to simplify construction to make a universal wing. So these fairings were there in most cases, whether or not there were MK 108 outboard cannons installed in the wing."
