I have the kit in hand and just started pre painting the cockpit. I have decals for Jesse Brown or Tom Hudner's planes from December 4, 1950. I also have some rockets and bombs a fellow modeler sent me a few years ago from one of his 1/48 Hasegawa F4U-5 kits. I just tried a 1,000 lb. bomb on my kits wing pylon and it seems useable. This kit I have is an early Hasegawa kit and the pylons are different from the later F4U-5 and AU-1 Hasegawa kits. I didn't like the looks of the external fuel tanks, bombs look more "war like" to me.

I did one of these subjects a few years ago using a 1/72 Hobbyboss F4U-4 and after market decals, Jessie Browns' plane. Never cared for the looks of the decals, they look wrong. Almost as if they are the wrong scale.
