Google says it's a "stylized" version not a known variant like an E or G. I am one year older than the kit, it was first molded in 1954.

I might need to spray some gloss sea blue first to cover my sanding and putty spots up, just a bit though!

That Aurora 109 was the first kit I bought as a kid from my hard earned 25 cents/week allowance. When I saw the sprues I cried and my mom helped me return the kit.

Corsair looks good.

I made $1 to $2 dollars shoveling snow in the winter or mowing lawns in the summer from an old maintenance guy who worked at the paper mill across the street from us in the '60s. The mill owners owned all the houses in my neighborhood so everyone in my neighborhood was a mill worker. Hated the smell on hot humid summer days.
