Hi all,

This New Year Holidays I would like to try to build Spitfire Mk V.
Eduard kit looks very tasty, so I hope to get some real pleasure.
Together with the kit itself I bought exhausts, guns, Quinta 3D decals to the cockpit and 3D printed wheels.

If someone can share with me tricky places from this kit I will appreciate such kind of help.
Eduard mistakes and uncertancies will be interesting to discuss too.

Hi all!
Thank you for the support, guys.

So... I've decided to start not from the cockpit, but from the wings.Wheel wells are first on this stage and I wonder how Eduard made this part.
It looks like I didn't perform any mistakes, but there are quite huge separate lines in the well.

Are there any references for such separate lines on the prototypes or It is necessary to fill them with putty?

With the appearance of the wheel bay is a problem because nobody took care of taking its pics at that time. Most of the images of them are of the restored kites taken today. However in a couple of shots it can be noticed that the panel lines like in the model are more characteristic for the very late Mk.IX and XVI and also for Mk.XIV. The Mk.I and the other earlier Spits had them made of one piece and possible joined ( one panel line ) at one place. The Mk.V and the early Mk.IX seems to have it done almost in the same way and there were two thin panel lines at the area where the landing leg was retracted.

Mk.I and other early ones ...
