1/48 Visible B-17

First of all I did not build this. I commissioned it to be built with my Uncle Jacks airplane markings...He was a side gunner...I have a small memorial to him in my collection. The gentleman that built this was a F4 Phantom pilot in Vietnam and had to eject..when he did he lost an arm. He builds great models with only one arm.. Amazing!!!!

Very nicely done model. SANCER, the only B-17 model produced as a :"Visible B-17" was the Revell/ Monogram kit in 1/48 scale. I have one in my stash from when the kit was first issued.

I appreciate the comment and data, Larry, I have a Revell B-17F 1/48, also in my stash; but I'm going to look for this "visible" version.

Thank you so much..wish I would have talked with him more...Model is a Monogram and you can still get it on ebay.

Nice! My favorite is actually the E or F ..not a fan of the chin turret. Like the clean look. Maybe someday I get another..built versions on ebay are really good deals lately.

Very nice. I struggle with two arms. One arm! Wow! Is your uncle still with us? If so, I'm very happy he's able to enjoy the model.

That is superb. He does better work with one arm than some guys with both.
