12oclockhigh.net is closing end this month.
Again, a gold mine of information will disappear

I lost my user/password more than 15 years ago.
Would be a shame to let it disappear like other WW2 fora's. Does someone have an access to it?
If yes, could someone ask Ruy Horta the total size of the forum, maybe i could host it as "consultable" Forum like i did for wwiiaircraftperformance.
Thanks.

Not much saved and the last save from 2024 send you to the hosting services.
Tried to save several different pages on the webarchive, but no luck; "error message telling page not available"
Looks like there is some kind of protection against the crawler from Wayback Machine.

Send them a message from the "contact us" link at the bottom of the page.

Sadly as far as I know and for reasons unknown Ruy has not responded to any of the offers of help or requests to take over the forum. So looks a bit selfish, "It's my forum and nobody else is taking it from me". Result thousands of historic information messages will be forever gone.
Hopefully someone will start a new forum where all those questions will eventually be asked again .

Well, if it's the case, then it sucks.
This is an attitude i do not appreciate... but still, if this is the case, what happens in the darkness...
Instead of being proud of what he has done with his forum and passing the torch to the next generation ...

Never a site I frequented but each site like 12 O'clock high that goes down is a huge loss. While the Internet Archive typically does usually save portions of a site like 12 O'clock high that have been online for as long as them there are always huge amounts of information that is lost.

That would be a huge shame if that is the reason the site closes.

There has been a conditional reprieve until the end of the year. In his Update announcement Ruy is also asking for help from someone that knows a thing or two about upgrading.

3.7.2 that's almost 10 years old. Upgrading that all the way to 8 will be a pain I imagine.

I'm not volunteering. At the moment I'm working on saving "Zuidfront Holland". (Welkom [Zuidfront Holland - Mei 1940]) That site 's last upgrade was 2008 we decided to crawl the whole site, throw away the system and start a new with a new CMS. Upgrading would not be worth it. I've been working on that the last 2-3 months.
