Interesting. I notice the Japanese Phantoms do not have the Anti-slip canard at the root between the flat and angled part of the wing. This was placed there because the F-4 had a tendency to enter an un-recoverable flat spin (ala TOP GUN) during high G, slipping maneuvers. A small and often over-looked piece of the later air-frames. I wonder if the Japanese found an alternative work around for it.
