Grew up in the backyard of GN and SP running through the Oregon Cascades. Bloody nose and Black Widow schemes were my memories. I never got to see the heavy steam but I fantasized about it coming up the grade in the winter belching smoke and steam out the stack double heading GS Northern 4-8-4's love me the AC-9 Yellowstone's. Or the big articulated GN steam!Love trains in general, more so US steam and 1st and 2nd generation diesels....got a soft spot for the LMS of the Big Four, wouldn't mind shovel coal on a BR 52 or 01 either!
