Actually if there is no the recce container racked under the fusealge it is quite difficult to state if it is the R variant or the MF for instance. But most of them was equipped with a SPO-3 warning station with antennas placed on the wingtips, which reported radiation from a foreign radar station from any direction. These can be noticed on the wingtips of the 2133 ... the recce container can be seen as well.

BTW .. the recce container seen in the pic is of the D type what means the tray with cameras. The one used for the radio-electronic reconnaissance was marked as the R type. Here is a shot of a Polish MiG-21R. The R type tray is racked under the belly while the D type is lying on the ground.
