Depends how you read it. I would read the climb stats as 0 - 6,000m there is next to nothing in it, the difference could be down to whose aircraft is the cleanest, and above 6,000m the Spit has a run away advantage

Being serious for a moment it does confirm that the Spitfire has a decent advantage at altitude, an area where the Luftwaffe relied on the 109 to hold the ring.

In a dive there can be no doubt that the 109 had problems if the dive went for any length of time

In agility the Spitfire always has the advantage

Re max speed the 109 does have some strong areas

But overall, for me the choice is the Spitfire or Fw 190
 
I haven't read all the post yet (OK so I'm lazy and stupid). Give me a few days to check up on the VVS fighters. The Yak-9 doesn't count because it entered service in January 1943, but the Yak-1 was awesome for the time. Got to go to bed now, but will return later for the Truth.
