Hobby group declares balloon 'missing in action' after US downs objects

A US hobby group says it lost track of its pico balloon over south-east Alaska on February 11, sparking speculation it could be one of the three benign balloons downed by authorities.

"The descriptions of all three unidentified objects shot down Feb. 10-12 match the shapes, altitudes and payloads of the small pico balloons..."

Except one was reported to be an Octahedron in shape. That's not a "Pico" balloon.

They were shadowing the Balloon while it was over North America along with RC-135s.

Like the pilot took a selfie. I imagine they have even higher resolution shots of it. Neat that we flew the U-2 at flight level.
