Latest in the series arrived Friday and I am already a couple of chapters into its contents. Same format and style as the previous volumes and links in nicely to their South Pacific Air War series and the more recent New Guinea Eagles (JAAF in PNG) new series first volume. I particularly likes in the introductory chapters of this volume a stocktake of what the force composition of the two opposing sides forces were, units, strengths, aircraft types and locations. And the RNZAF are represented with their Hudsons operating from Guadalcanal and other units in Fiji.
This volume covers a period with a number of key events, new units arriving, old units leaving, new aircraft types arriving, new airfields being developed, with some pivotal happenings in the campaign.
