On the History Channel just now, History's Greatest Machines with Dolph Lundgren, Episode 1: Aerial Attackers. The B-17, this should be good.....nope!!!! They talk about the short range of escort fighter saying how American fighters had to turn back before the bombers reached targets. It shows the American fighters turning back....British roundels on the wings looking vaguely, and I mean vaguely like Spitfires. Schweinfurt is brought up and shows B-17s with two engines. We move up a year, 1944 is the Heading. Below the heading, a B-29 is heading to Germany. I stopped watching

Searching yesterday, as my son wants to turn a model of the Titanic into the Olympic.

To be fair, it does go on to list some detail differences, but this cracked us up

The YT channel Oceanliner Designs, with your friend Mike Brady, has a few videos that cover the differences between the two. He seems to have a genuinely well researched and regarded catalogue of videos. BTW the images in the AI pics seem correct to my ancient eyes.

Please, tell me those are photos of the same ship but manipulated with Photoshop. There is NO FU..ING WAY to have both ships photographed from the exact same distance and angle even if one has tried 1000 times to make the photos. And one didn't....AFAIK.

I suspect some AI or other manipulation there myself. Like you say, the odds of getting them both on those exact distances and angles are extremely slim, if not impossible! Especially as there aren't that many photos of Titanic....

Well, you know, if they added two more engines to the B-17...

Anyway, a B-29 did actually fly to England during the war. The "Hobo Queen (41-36393) toured England in early '44 as a propaganda mission. It was limited to where it could visit due to runway length and composition requirements, by the way.
