Isn't the Airfix 1/72nd Bristol Blenheim an awful kit!

I've been building one for a couple of months now and its the worst thing I've
ever had in my hands! Terrible is not the word for this kit and that canopy...FFS!

That has to be a kit with the most mods ever to correct it.
Vac canopy as well. A real ball buster!
If it wasn't one of my Davidson series, I woulda chucked it!

Yep, I was given one, and I gave it away - to Karl, I think !
It was only just 'reasonable' when first released, about 46 years ago, maybe a touch longer, but the moulds certainly haven't stood the test of time!
I would think it'll be on the list of 'new tools' from Airfix, and maybe, if we're lucky, we'll get a 1/48th scale version, maybe even the MkIV and Mk1, rather than have to pay silly prices for the Classic Airframes kits on that well-known internet auction site.
I was 'watching' one (again) just last week, and thought I might be in with a chance. But no, as usual, in the last half hour, the bidding went stupid, and it ended at a ridiculous price, around £50 I think, although lower than some I've seen, going for £65 and £70, like the Hudson, average £70, sometimes over £100 !!

Classic Airframes Blenheim Mk.I now at £61.53 with 12 hours to go....and another Bristol Blenheim Mk IV, which is at £62.00 with a week to go!

I bet that Airfix, could make a good sale if they decided to do those Blenheims Mk. I and IV in 1/48, especially if they'd be as good as their latest releases, I'd definitely buy!

I got my first Classic Airframes yonks ago for just £28 and was happy,
I think todays ebay is full of 'shill bidders' hipping up the price for their
mates stuff, This type of bidding should be banned but how can it be
done, a mate of mine has fifteen ebay accounts!! They are all his and
uses them to 'up' the price for his stuff.

Classic Airframes on 'Guard Duty'

Back to the awful Airfix Blenheim I'm using the vac' form canopy too and
I've also opened up the upper sliding window, the front window and the lower
blister for the rearward gun, Not going to do any alterations like the one in the link!
So far its coming on nicely and winning the 'thing' I'll never build another let me tell you.

One thing I did notice when I was using the vac' form canopy was how thin it is and
how thick the edges of the fuselage are, so I had to make them thinner so it wouldn't
look daft seeing that thick edge.
