See? Ukraine can't win. We should pull our support, arrest Zelensky, cede Taiwan to China, and whatever else they want, and focus on fighting climate change. While we are at it, we can all submit to gender reassignment surgery because we are a bunch of pu--ies.

Err...I think you have got the rhetoric of the anti support for Ukraine crowd wrong. It's more like "...we can all submit to Putin and any other dictator or wannabe dictator out there while we collectively watch our children's future get pissed away while lining the pockets of corrupt politicians and corporations because we are a bunch of mindless morons who get worked up about false issues such as worrying about so-called wokeness..."

, are we seeing some fraying of NATO support?
Yes. NATO is about mutual defence of any member that is attacked (presumably by Russia), not about preemptively knocking Russia by supporting a non-member. It's one thing for NATO to intervene in the Yugoslav civil war or even in the Middle East. But Russia? It's no wonder that some members are becoming reticent about this departure in NATO thinking.

Fairly short-sighted, imo, given NATO's clear interest in having a strong Ukraine to bolster the Eastern frontier. Hey, Slovakia already has a history of collaboration from WWII, so it's not terribly surprising. But it's a shame such a minor entity might exert a veto over good sense.

It's not just Slovakia. The bickering and increasingly isolationist US Congress and potential POTUS candidates has to be encouraging isolationist, right-wing and nationalist politicians in Europe. Here in Canada it seems likely that our PM will get replaced in 2024, though the conservatives may stay the course. We're committed to not becoming political here, so I'll say no more.

Sadly, it is beginning to look like the 1930s all over again.

Fortunately, the dickhead in this European picture is past his prime, as is his nation. We need to be focusing on Xi and China ASAP -- without leaving Ukraine on its own. That implies a quicker victory in Ukraine being necessary.
