Putin's navy builds Black Sea base beyond reach of Kyiv's drones

"Novorossiysk could be vulnerable because it is not far from Crimea or the Kerch bridge, which Ukraine has repeatedly targeted. By contrast, the Ochamchire facility gets Russian assets well away from Ukraine. But far more important is that Ukraine will not want to target sovereign Georgian territory."

The fix: Georgian President, Salome Zourabichvili announces that Ukraine has her permission to strike any areas of Georgia that are held by Russian-back separatists. Prime Minister and Putin-lackey Irakli Garibashvili may get in the way though.

There is also the Ukrainian Naval Infantry bridgehead expanding on the east side of the Dnipro, east of Kherson, which doesn't seem to be getting much media exposure.
Here's some…

Interesting article.

I wonder how they would have reported on the "bleak outlook" of the landings at Normandy, Salerno or Okinawa.
As for Normandy, three months reporting might look like this: June 6th, 156,000 soldiers hit the beaches or drop inland; June 12th, all five beachheads successfully connected; June 26th Cherbourg port captured; 21 July city of Caen captured; Aug 25th, Paris liberated; Aug 30th, German forces retreated east across the Seine, marking the close of Operation Overlord. Total allied casualties 10,000 at Normandy, 226k total Overlord op.

Casualties aside, the Ukrainians and the West would have been ecstatic if Ukraine could have reported such success. Instead, the Ukrainian troops are saying they're stuck in an untenable swamp with no achievable objectives. It sounds to be like a loss in faith in their higher ups.
