Then Putler should have followed Uncle Adolph's chapter about how to properly eliminate a people:
Destroy their Army first.

Fortunately, he's an egotistical dumbass and missed that chapter, plus the one about what happens when you target civilians:
It makes the people angry and want to fight back.
Well...

Yeah...but if your goal is to eliminate the Ukrainian people then perhaps you claim these are legitimate targets?
It is a case that could be made, but its worth remembering that one of the major mistakes Goering made in the BOB was switching his bombers from the RAF airfields and infrastructure to London. It gave the RAF time to recover. It could easily be that these attacks on civilian targets are what is helping the Ukraine forces to hang on.

Pavel Durov, the Russian founder of Telegram, has been arrested yesterday by the French Police yesterday at Le Bourget. Motivation is stil unknown, ;apparently lack of cooperation with the authorities as long as moderation is concerned.

Well, better then that Mark & Elon refrain to go to France.

BTW, beware the mods here. Just in case...

An investment fund linked to the sons of Russian oligarchs Petr Aven and Vadim Moshkovich played a role in helping Elon Musk acquire Twitter, now rebranded as X.
This revelation comes from a court document from the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, as reported by The Washington Post.

In 2022, Musk finalised the purchase of Twitter for a staggering $44 billion, aided by a variety of financial institutions, banks, and funds. Among the investors identified in 2024 through court-mandated disclosures, the venture capital firm 8VC stands out as one of the 100 largest backers of the acquisition. 8VC, a U.S.-based fund, includes among its personnel the sons of Russian oligarchs Aven and Moshkovich, both of whom have been the subject of Western sanctions due to their associations with Russia's political elite. According to Forbes 8VC invests in companies that fulfil contracts for the U.S. Department of Defence and NATO.

The Musk-Twitter deal itself was a major business story, with Musk's controversial leadership of the platform and his sweeping changes making headlines worldwide. However, this new revelation about Russian-linked financial backing adds another layer of complexity, especially as Western nations seek to curtail the power and influence of Russian oligarchs.

Musk, who has claimed the platform as a critical tool for free speech, now faces potential scrutiny for his association, however indirect, with Russian oligarchic interests.

This raises questions in my mind about Musk's one-time decision to deny Ukraine access to Starlink in 2022 and his general opposition to Ukrainian aid. I knew there was a reason I didn't like this douchopotamus. Perhaps it's time the US government severed its contracts with this, er, tool, so to speak.

Norway has revealed that one of its most strategic air bases has been the target of sabotage. The announcement comes as other European NATO air bases — namely in Germany — report incidents, one of which remains unexplained, as well as troubling drone activity over critical infrastructure. These incidents come amid increasing warnings about nefarious Russian activity on the continent, part of an apparent wave of 'hybrid warfare' as the conflict in Ukraine further stokes East-West tensions.

Reports emerged today from The Barents Observer that a critical communications cable associated with Evenes Air Station, in northern Norway, had been severed. The incident occurred in April and was reported to the police, but has only now been announced, as state prosecutors investigate what happened.

The precise function of the cable has not been disclosed, but reports describe it as being "part of the air base's critical infrastructure," and that it was cut outside the airfield's perimeter. The Norwegian Police have confirmed that it was severed in a deliberate action but that, so far, no one has been charged, and no suspects have been identified at this point.

KYIV, Aug 26 (Reuters) - Russia launched about 200 missiles and drones at Ukraine on Monday, killing five people and striking energy facilities nationwide, Kyiv said, while neighbouring NATO member Poland reported a drone had probably entered its airspace.
Power cuts and water supply outages were reported in many areas, including parts of Kyiv, as officials said the attack - 2-1/2 years into Russia's full-scale invasion - targeted power or other critical infrastructure in at least 10 regions.

[...]

Monday's missile and drone salvo was Russia's most intense in weeks, coming as Ukraine is claiming new ground in a major cross-border incursion into Russia's southern Kursk region while Russian forces steadily inch forward in Ukraine's east, closing in on the transport hub of Pokrovsk.

[...]

"It was one of the biggest combined strikes. More than a hundred missiles of various types and about a hundred Shahed drones. And like most previous Russian strikes, this one is just as sneaky, targeting critical civilian infrastructure," President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Telegram.
Poland said an "object" had entered its airspace, that it may have landed on Polish territory and that searches were underway.
