The government change in the US will have a great impact in this War. That is undeniable and had been noted before in this thread and the mods allowed it to be discussed as long as it is kept behind known boundries by all.

Some of the last post maybe be too close to those boundries and even maybe some could be held as trespasers.

The fall of the Assad dinasty is a regime change.

The election of a new president in fair and democratic elections is not. Not in Spain, not in France, not in Germany, not in Taiwán, not in RoK, not in UK and not in the US.

One can like more or less the elected one, but is not a regime change. A return to the monarchy would be a regime change.
 
Elections have consequences. The fall of Assad, where I expect one evil tyrant will replace another, will have have less impact on the Russo-Ukraine War than a major policy shift in the US or a major European nation.
Though, Assad's fall can't be good for Russia. At least in the short term. There's a whole new cast of characters that need to be bought off.

Absolutely it will. But discussing the pros and cons of the current vs. the future occupants on the Oval Office is undeniably a political discussion. We're at Page 1789, which is both impressive and depressing. If the thread does end, let it be because the war has been concluded with Ukraine victorious; and not because the Mods are forced to shut it down. Pretty please
 

 
Two russian tankers in distress in Kerch strait, one of them with a broken-away bow. It seems weather is on Ukrainian side, large waves reported to have hit the ships. Probably too much rust to hold the ships together.

Attached: 1 video According to Russian media, two tankers, Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239, are in distress near the Kerch Strait, just kilometers from shore. For 4 hours, 13/14 crew members on each vessel have been stranded on deck as massive waves reportedly breached the ships.
