Better we find that out now instead of when the balloon goes up.Ukraine Is Burning Through 155mm M777 Howitzer Barrels So Fast The U.S. Army Can't Keep Up
The U.S. Army is now trying to meet a requirement to produce at least 30 new barrels for M777 howitzers every month.www.twz.com
Better we find that out now instead of when the balloon goes up.
EXACTLY!!!!! And some now want to stop all that, thus depriving those Americans of jobs, damaging US Defense capability and generally fucking over the Ukrainians. My own thought was that by striving to resupply these barrels, we are also invigorating our production capacity as well. For all the criping about our "giving" money to Ukraine, the fact is that much of the aid we Americans have "given" to Ukraine has been spent in America, employing Americans, and keeping American plants open and productive. That goes not only for arty tubes but MANPADS from Raytheon/Lockheed, shell factories in Oklahoma, and so on.
From what I understand the issue has been known for some time. I remember reading/hearing about the barrel wear issue has been known since 2022.Better we find that out now instead of when the balloon goes up.
