The thing that angers me is that there is absolutely no need for Ukraine to give up any land. If the USA really wants this war ended they could do it without any risk to their own troops. Just give Ukraine exactly what they have asked for in terms of weapons, let Russia know that they are doing so. Remember Ukraine has largely held the Russian beast while being trickle fed support. Imagine what they could do if the floodgates were opened.

I don't know a flood would change much, because the manpower situation is so fraught. I'd still support it.

I apologize if this has been mentioned previously, but I just watched Trump state that he would like to have Russia back in the G7. It was apparently an error to throw them out because of the Crimea. That's a great start to 'negotitaions'.
Am trying REALLY hard to not be specifically political, but I have the terrifying sense that the western alliance (the sole reason that Europe has (generally) had peace for 80 years) is unravelling before our eyes......... am horrified.............

Let's not fall victim to the media hype.

Just as there was huge speculation of Ukraine's demise when Russia invaded, we're seeing the media feeding frenzy once again.

Washington can negotiate all it wants, Europe can wring it's wrists all it wants, Putin can scheme all he wants but in the end, it is President Zelensky and Ukraine who has the final word.

And until he makes a decision, I won't waste my time with speculation.

Well, I will make one exception regarding a speculation:
Any proposed concessions short of full withdrawel may receive a response very close to what the defenders of Snake Island issued.
