Propaganda is propaganda. In Russia and to Putin's global supporters it is a powerful weapon. The issue for the West is how the USA feels about this scenario. F-16s are one thing and they have been shot down before, but the A-10 has an aura around it in the minds of the American people, which, busting that could be detrimental to its future, unlike the F-16.

´Though wouldn't that help the USAF to finally ditch these old A-10s?

Now wouldn't that be a shame? It would be all too fitting if he was to meet his end in a crashing aircraft. Hopefully, karma will be a bitch..............

Speaking of Russia's ...errr...Putin's 'election':

As Putin confirms election push his biggest rival has once again gone missing

Navalny aides have been preparing for his expected transfer to a "special regime" colony, the harshest grade in Russia's prison system, after he was sentenced in August to an additional 19 years in prison.

Disappointing to see this even allowed:

Oligarch Oleg Deripaska is fighting to overturn a ban imposed by Australia over his alleged "close ties" to Vladimir Putin amid the invasion of Ukraine.

Also disappointed, though not surprised, to see him represented by a former attorney-general, though one who left politics under a cloud and who has aligned himself with other unsavoury characters since.

For friends of Ukraine, these unwittingly booby-trapped Russian trucks might be darkly hilarious. Don’t mistake individual incompetence for strategic failure, however.
