I think that's the expectation, given the words coming out the 21st Century's pathetic imitators of Chamberlain.
When he became PM in May 1937, Chamberlain inherited a military neglected by PMs Stanley Baldwin (1923-29 & 1935-37) and Ramsey MacDonald (1924, 1929-35). He was no fool when he signed the Munich agreement with Hitler in 1938, as he knew Britain was not ready. But Chamberlain set to work, leading one of the largest rearmament campaigns of all time (Putin will have a equally massive postwar task rearming Russia), launching or laying down seven fleet carriers (Ark Royal, 6xIllustrious/Implacable class) and all five KGV class battleships. Chamberlain's government expedited the Spitfire, Hurricane and chain home radar programs that made Churchill's victory in the BoB possible. I've always thought that Chamberlain is unfairly tarred by us armchair historians.

I don't have a problem with him trying to stave off war. I do have a problem with his apparent acceptance of the Munich agreement being sold as "peace in our time" when anyone with half-a-brain understood that Germany by then already had a track record of signing and then breaking agreements.

Of course the Allies needed more time to rearm. But saying that it meant peace seems awfully naive -- or cynical.

The popular photo of that North Korean soldier looking up is rather sad, to be honest.

The image is a still from an FPV drone's video feed, taken just before it killed him.
I feel more sad for the North Koreans than for others who fight on the side of the Kremlin. North Koreans most probably do not understand what is going on in this war and have little choice. Others, including the Russian professional military, know well what they do and can quit.

A joke of the year. New ranking.
No, seriously, when No.2 can not defeat No.20 and has to turn to No.34 for manpower and ammunition and No.16 for buying critical technologies... Is it time to rethink your methodology and formulas, after 3 years?
Russia is No.2? Maybe because of its nuclear arsenal. Take that away, and account for all of their losses and compare conventional forces I expect Russia is below the likes of France and the UK.

Russian media channels recently published a video claiming to show a successful strike on a "Western-made radar system" allegedly operated by Ukrainian forces.

However, defense analysts have identified the destroyed system as a rare North Korean surface-to-air missile (SAM) system, possibly in Russian service. The footage, originally shared by the Russian channel "Povernutye na Voynie," appears to document a friendly fire incident.

The air defense system shown in the video closely resembles a North Korean analog of the Russian Tor short-range SAM system, known by NATO as the SA-15. This particular vehicle, mounted on a semi-trailer with missiles positioned in its middle section, had not been previously identified in the conflict, raising questions about its origin and operational deployment.

Analysts believe the vehicle was misidentified, potentially by the drone operator responsible for the strike. The incident highlights the challenges of identifying advanced air defense systems in the fog of war.
