Visit deep south Louisiana. You will find the Acadians (Cajuns), many still speaking French and English with unique accent. Get back in the swamp and some still make their living as they have for decades. Great friendly folks who like their coffee STRONG.
That's because it is served bland in the rest of the USA.

And while there you can experience what its like in a 3rd World Country too… ;)m

And sorry the coffee is not that great there. I imported mine when I lived in Louisiana.

The people in Lousyana :p are great, but I've only had the hotel coffee, which is the same shitty brown water served in hotels everywhere in America.

The people are great. I made so many friends, and very friendly and hospitable. But its like a third world country in many parts of it. My job had me working and living down on the coast, south of New Orleans.

First time my father in law visited from Germany, he was shocked. Literally.

As for coffee, I found it super overrated.

Like I say, I can't speak to the coffee. But yeah, neighborhoods in shocking condition was a thing. To be fair, Hattiesburg MS was damned close to the ghettos I lived in in Oxnard.

But the people there were really cool, much better than the Californians we're importing here in Austin. I also had some great traveler encounters in Nawlins and Alabama both.

Yeah, I will never complain about the people. Or the food… 😝
