Like what? In Russia we have a former KGB installed as president for life, where the media is controlled by a ministry of truth, where the people are encouraged to denounce one another, where the secret police keeps everyone in fear, where there are no constitutional rights or freedoms, where the military suffers purges, corruption and relies on suicidal meat waves of conscripted citizens and prisoners, where production and wealth is controlled by the president's inner circle, which is itself purged through windows at the whim of dear leader. This sounds more and more like the soviets under Stalin. The only difference is that today's Russia is economically, demographically and increasingly militarily hobbled.

Putin is not a Soviet. He is a Czarist. He's even likened himself to Peter the Great. He wants a return to the Russian Empire, not the Soviet Union.

Not sure about any law, but currently, the USN has 11 fleet carriers in active service, 1 ready to enter service (CVN- 79), two under construction and 2 on order.
The USN also has 12 Assault Carriers (LHA/LHD) currently active, which then brings the total to 23.

Remember those figures were compiled by Abysmal Intelligence I which means they are about as reliable as Wikipedia is on a BAD day.

The nomenclature might change, but the methodology remains more or less the same. That the Soviets thought themselves classless Communists is given the lie by the lives lived by the proletariat compared to the lives lived by the nomenklatura.

And the lives lived by modern Russians is very different from the lives lived by modern Russian oligarchs. In other words, this is analogy and metaphor ... but the powers-that-be are still exercising the same levers of power.

Putin is an autocrat who will use any power, including defenestration, exile, prison camps, ratting by one's social peers, conscription to deadly fighting, steering state money from social needs to support of the security state, repression of the press, disappearing, and so on -- exactly as practiced by the tsars, exactly as practiced by the general secretaries of the USSR.

That they've changed the label is at this point irrelevant. Starkist or Chicken of the Sea, it's still a can of tuna.

Yeah - she has the 16SE (also called SE 3rd Generation) which is all she needs but if you compare it with the other models of the 16 you will see it is lacking many features.

She does have better connectivity than I do tho because I bought mine in the US and Aus uses different frequencies so that can be an issue.

Android or Apple?
And model?
My wifes new Iphone is lacking features that I use often on my old Iphone 11
Older LG with Android OS - I went to upgrade to a Samsung (with Android OS) and discovered I can't transfer my photos and such and would need to transfer all that to my computer (which is STILL in storage), so this old phone soldiers on like it's owner.

The only reason I bought the iphone 11 when I did was that I had washed the apple juice out of my iphone 8 and after that ONLY the phone did not work. Camera and voice recorder and notes and all the other software worked - I just could not make phone calls. Apparently the washing machine damaged the antenna some how and the cost of a new case was not that far from a whole new phone.
