Kremlin: no Russian bombers destroyed, only damaged
Russia has moved to downplay the impact of Ukraine’s recent drone strikes against its long-range bomber fleet, insisting that damaged aircraft will be repaired, despite video and satellite evidence showing severe destruction at multiple airbases. Following Ukraine’s unprecedented drone operationdefence-blog.com
I guess Russian aircraft repair skills are next-level ........ returning a pile of ash on an apron to airworthy status is impressive ...![]()
I know, right? If NATO is such a threat, why did the Russians empty their defenses in their west and place their Tu 160s nice and close to U.S. first strike capabilities?![]()
Russia hides Tu-160 bombers in America’s shadow
Russia has quietly redeployed its Tu-160 strategic bombers to Anadyr airbase in the country’s far east, just 500 kilometers from the U.S. state of Alaska — a move analysts call a paradoxical attempt to protect its aircraft from Ukrainian dronedefence-blog.com

When I was in high school in the UK, I had a German teacher who would make us translate German ... into French. She was hands-down the best teacher I ever had. BTW: YT has several videos of Viggo Mortensen doing press conferences in 8 languages ......including Basque. Incredibly impressive.....As a trivial fact incidental to the above, the instructor who taught our USAF Russian language class told us his parents were Ukrainian and the two languages were very close. He taught proper Russian and his English had no accent whatsoever. I would have liked to learn more about his history, but a 19 year old does ask his officer instructor anything not class related.
I think I have mentioned a funny incident in class elsewhere on the forum. I had four years of Spanish in High School, and the rule in Russian class was students could not speak anything but Russian once inside the room. While responding to the instructor's question, all of the guys in class began laughing. The instructor's teaching method, when a mistake was made. was to smack his pointer loudly on your desk while yelling, "Kak!" I had filled my answer with Spanish words where I did not have the proper Russian.
Over the years since I have been amazed by people who can carry a conversation with several people in different languages at the same time.
