One of the potential benefits: testing not in Ukrainian waters that are under regular enemy surveillance, but somewhere in Norwegian fjords. The weather should help as well. I assume that overcast conditions are more common there than over the Black Sea coast.
Although I'd prefer this happening in the Thames River by Electric Boat, this too is great.
 
 
We're watching drone Darwinism in action. The evolving of different drone species seems to be accelerating. It's like watching a Cambrian explosion of evolving murderbots.

I don't think this will help Ukraine…at least in the short term. Part of the reason for Sweden taking this approach is to ensure they maintain a combat capability. If they were to start pulling old C/D models out of service to use them as a source of parts for new E/F models, they would be reducing their capability. There might be a bunch of the C/ D versions available in a few years once the E/F ones start arriving in numbers.
