I very much doubt that this was Zelensky's exact words.

I agree if what he said was you cannot have elections while the enemy is bombing the shit out of you (because Putin would definitely attack polling booths and counting centres) but you can have elections during a war if you are sitting on your fat **** thousands of km/miles from any military action like American politicians are.

Under their constitution, Ukraine cannot hold elections while under martial law, and there's the security question as well as the fact that a majority of Ukrainians don't support holding elections...

It's almost as if the person wanting Ukraine to hold elections doesn't respect constitutions or something...
