Comparison of apples with oranges :
- AMX 10 RC : tech from the 1970s for a vehicle whose main dedication was reconnaissance in force, with a 105 mm gun powerful enough to disengage in case of confrontation with a soviet tank of the time (T62, T72...). Rather useful now as a sort of assault gun.
- Centauro : a heavy recon vehicle from 1980s tech that can perform a tank destroyer function with a 120 mm gun with present russian tanks.

Most other English language definitions are a mix of the French and US definitions. I have never seen a version that says wheeled vehicle but I am fairly sure some "modern" definition will say so.

In current terms, I beleive it falls under the Armed Reconnaissance Vehicle (ARV) label.
