Didn't Congress pass a bill in 2023 explicitly preventing any sitting president from unilaterally withdrawing from NATO. IIRC, any proposal to withdraw from NATO would require a two-thirds majority in the Senate.
Ironically, then Senator Rubio was one of those pushing for the bill to protect America's NATO membership. Now he seems to have changed tack, referring to NATO as a "one-way street" and saying that the US will have to "re-examine" its participation.
The lack of logic, particularly when Russia is providing intelligence to Iran, is mind-blowing. I'll bet Putin can't believe his fortune: oil revenues are up and NATO is collapsing. You couldn't make this up.
