I'm afraid that the amphibious operation itself is hardly possible today due to the deficit of landing ships. The last one was sunk in 2023.
As for sustainment, I think it can be successful only after a serious degradation of enemy air and missile capabilities. Strike UAVs will also remain a problem, as the operation in Krynky bridgehead has demonstrated. Ukrainian marine drones can be used for supply, but there should be thousands of them...

The possibility is on Russia's mind however. Maybe it's just a feint to distract Russian attention.

It's most likely displayed astern, which is not seen from this angle.

I would imagine that their ensign would be displayed at the bow under normal conditions.

The ensign is usually flown from the stern or on the mast. I forgot the name of the rigging that is the place of honor for the national ensign (yard arm?). The bow staff is usually for the jack flag.

But yes, national flag to the stern, the jack (I was thinking it was called ensign) to the bow.
