Good day to you, Ladies and Gentlemen. I kindly ask for your help with identifiyng a metal box. It is cca 45 cm high, 45 cm long and 15 centimeters wide (14,2 to be precise). There are some markings in English: ORDER 6390, SIZE 025X18X..., ENDURO, 172, 125 000, REPUBLIC S... SPEC. ANQ(?)G(?)ST. There is also a Russian handwriting written with a pencil: левый передний (front left). There are some more markings on a handle, 4167122 number is one of them. It came to Poland somehow, I guess with a Lend-Lease Soviet aircraft. My grandma used to use it as a laundry powder container. RGDS, Piotr.

The D with that number inside is a Douglas inspection stamp so I checked the A20 parts list and that shows

which means, if the number comes off a handle, you have one of the four A-20H nose 50 cal box. The absence of a dash number after the figure number (132) means the part is not illustrated in the manual.
I am sorry I cannot provide more help

My pleasure

Sir, I have one more favor to ask you. Could you please explain the meaning of other stamps placed on the handle?
Would it be possible to trace it to the particular plane or do I want to much?

The M inside a C is probably an inspection stamp from a casting subcontractor and the other numbers possibly a batch number though most US producers did not follow that practice.
The part being a line replaceable unit that will fit any aircraft of that model it may not have been tied to any specific aircraft. If a unit was doing rapid turn-arounds any spare cans would have been loaded in readiness for the first plane to land and then the ones from that aircraft reloaded and used on the next aircraft etc.
