We went opening night in Monterey, CA, but one of the film cans had been wound backwards. The flying scenes were very interesting, and the dialogue made no sense!

There's a great "making of" book about Top Gun compiled from interviews and studio memos called Top Gun Memos. I enjoyed reading about the uphill battle involved in making that movie, and how different it ended up from originally envisioned. A lot of common misconceptions about the behind the scenes still circulate pop culture. Oh, and learning about the 16 screaming monkeys....
