Found my B-24 H
Not from 467th BG but 453th, 733th BS.
S/N 41-29595
"On the 21 Jan 45
mission to Heilbronn
marshalling yards, the
extremely low temperature
froze the fuel transfer pumps.
After attempts to transfer fuel
failed, Lt. Richard C. Bussell
and his crew bailed out and the
aircraft crashed at Charleville,
about 6 miles N of Sézanne,
France"
Hummm...
Except the fact that Archibald did not ended in Charleville but Boissy le Repos, the report seems to state that the plane self landed.
And pretty well.
Don't really know what to think about, any opinion ?
