Im not finding any pictures of drop tanks, have found some of the following armament but not in russian markings. They are depth charges, wing rockets, radar pod, torpedo and glide bombs. Will keep my eyes out though. Did find a few more pictures.

Thank you Micdrow for the new photos. I think I have seen a different picture of 23224. Was that the plane that was used fly the Russian ferry pilots and inspectors to the accept the lend lease planes? Sorry, that was what URSS phot was used for.
I was surprised to read that the Russians would used B25 as a cargo plane and troop transport. I have never seen the B-25 with drop tanks, it does not look right.

According to the caption on the picture it was used ferry pilots along with one of the C-47's thats to the right of the picture which you can barely see. As to the drop tank, you are right. It does not look right on a B-25. Luckly it was for evaluation only.

Have you run across anything about a test flight involving a flame thrower that was installed in the bomb bay?

DBII

Hi DBII,

Ive ran across something about a flame thrower used on an aircraft a while back. I cant remember if it was on a German aircraft or a American aircraft. I do remember from what I read that it looked impressive in the air but really wasn't of much use to shoot down aircraft.

Hi DBII, interesting, cardboard tanks. I will see what I can find. I did find these pictures while looking that you may find interesting though.

Top Photo is a B-25C-10 modified for transport role. Bottom is B-25C on test at Air Force Scientific Research Insitute, June 1942.

Bottom photo is one of five B-25Bs delivered by Soviet freighter Dekabrist to Murmansk in December 1941. None were used for combat, only training. This one became the personal aircraft of I P Mazuruk. Seen here in September 1942 on route from Krasnoyarsk to Fairbanks leading a group of PS-84 (license built C-47, later called Li-2) passenger aircraft carrying Soviet acceptence committee's specialists and ferry pilots to Alaska.

Very interestings antoni,

Many thanks

Thanks for the airbrush link Anton.

I used the putty for the first time to remove the seam line. I made a mess of it. The putty is from testors. I was surprised when it looked like the glue. I finshed the top and let it dry. I then went on did the bottom and the wings. About half way through the work, the putty started to turn white. The sanding was harder that I thought. I clear portions do not want to sand and the white portions flake off. Any suggestions? I might need to get another tube.

DBII

1.Can you remove the putty from your model without sanding?
2.How do the seam lines look like on your model, possible to upload pics?
3.Are there any gaps?

Anyway,I suggest to use a putty of other firms ( Tamiya,Revell for instance.)

I do not have a digital camera to post pictures. I am still a film guy. I can remove the white putty but the clear stuff is like glue. I will try sanding again over the weekend. I have not given up yet. There was no major gaps just the pesky seam. If I was using a brush, I would not care about the seam. I will try and drive across town over the weekend and see if I can find another brand. I drive across town where I live takes an hour. I live in a very large city. If I every get this finished, I will post pictures.

thanks,
dbII

Hi DBII,
You don't give up,I like it.:D

But I would like to ask you why you tried to use the putty. These seams on fuselage and other pieces usually are removed by filling then sanding and then polishing.A putty is needed when there are quite big gaps mainly or these two halves aren't the same in a shape.

That's a pity you cannot upload pics.It would help much.

In addition " but the clear stuff is like glue"- could you explain,I don't catch?

I thought that the seams where filed with the putty? Sounds like I will be laughing about this later. O well, if I do not make mistakes, I would not be learning. What should I be filling the seams with?

DBII

I don't know if I understand you properly dear friend but I'm not laughing at you ,your effords etc...at all.Simply these seams usually are easier to removed with files and sandpaper than with a putty.
