Boeing 377 Stratocruiser C-97

I love this plane, its from such an interesting period in aviation, right before jet planes really became a thing. There is a KC-97 at the Grissom Air Museum in central Indiana, its always neat to see. They added on jet engines to either side later on that look like smaller versions of the Jet pods put on B36s.
 
I agree the KC-97 was an impressive piece of engineering! Looking at the last picture I see that it is refueling a B-50 ( tall vertical Stab & R-4360 engines), not a B-29. But I guess if you said it was a B-29D it would be correct. Minor nit on a great picture. And the Nit has nothing to do with the KC-97!

Apparently it is a B-50D model that had underwing fuel tanks fitted, and a one piece nose transparency. At least according to Wiki, I was not aware of the differences in the B-50 Models, just how to tell them apart from a B-29.
