Looking for a good source for B-17 production numbers up to Pearl.

for the Statistical Digest 137 accepted from Jan '40 to Nov '41

the link to Statistical should be available but i've not, i remember someone posted it not much time ago

I think this put all of Joe Bauger's B-17 serial numbers in one place. Unfortunately there is no date

Fortress in the Sky by Bowers has the complete breakdown by block number. If someone has a specific question by block number I can provide the answer.

I have not read of such a version. Perhaps somebody else has.

However they were well aware of the blind spot in the tail so some sort of tail gun installation was required and
"In order to achieve better stability during the bomb run, the span of the horizontal tailplane was increased, the vertical tail was greatly increased in area, and a long dorsal fin was fitted in front of the tail. "

From Joe Baugher's website.

So you have a large increase in surface area and a small increase in frontal area aside from the changes in armament and weight.
