Hello there, this is Skywalker.
I'm planning to make a 1/48 Zero(Type 21) and its status will be "Captured by the US"
What confuses me is that there seems to be two types of national insignia on this plane, was it repainted?

description:The Japanese Zero recovered on Akutan Island in the Aleutians, where it crashed in June 1942, pictured repainted in U.S. markings at Naval Air Station (NAS) San Diego, California. The first example of the vaunted airplane captured by the Allies, it provided valuable information about the flying characteristics of the airplane that informed U.S. pilots.

They shared THE SAME name: Koga's Zero
I suspect that the US firstly washed the Zero's original paint and then repainted it with Blue gray over Light Grey but it's just my guess.
And what about the stencils? Will they replaced by US or remained its Japanese one?
