Hi, I thought Canal was a typo and should have been Channel. However I now understand.

They had a hard time with canals until 617 Squadron started dropping their big bombs nearby, and even that didn't completely stop stuff from being shipped down the canals, to include pre-fabricated U-boats and other big, heavy materials.
