Convert Bf109 G-6 to a G-4

I am currently finishing up a 1/72 Hobbyboss Mig-3 and have an old Otaki
1/48 Bf109 G-6 I'd like to do but as a G-4. I want to do it as an Afrika Corps
plane in tan over blue scheme. It has the small wing bumps which I guess
are OK, and I need to not use the bulges for the nose MGs. Any other glaring
details I need to add or delete? Thanks Bow

Is there any particular plane you want to replicate? Do you have a picture of the kite?

Anyway.. the fusealge MGs should be replaced with MG17 barrels. The G-6 had there the MG131s. The MG "gutters" should be of the "insert" type while the G-6 had the machine pressed ones. The gunsight of the G-6 was the Revi 16B and should be replaced with the Revi C/12 D for the G-4. However the earliest G-6s had the same gunsight the G-4 had. The short antenna mast of the G-6 has to be replaced with taller one for the G-4 unless your G-6 is of the eraly series then the mast was the same. Later G-6 had the start fuel filler gap at the starboard top of the fuselage at the fourth section additionally. The G-4 didn't have that at all. If the Otaki G-6 has that filler gap you have to remove this one either by sanding or applying of a putty.

Thank you for the list of revisions I need to make. I am pondering doing the
G-4 that Eduards did. in 1/48. Bow

I see. So you have to have the trop filter too.

Here a couple of shots of G-4s of the 8./JG53 in 1943. The captions say at Sicily, 1943. The Black 16 can be seen in the background in the first pic below.
