Dispanded British units in the n/w European campaign.

Dear all,
I understand that several British units were broken up as reinforcements in n/w Europe.I believe the 50th(Tyne Tees)infantry division was disbanded,to free up troops for other units?.Does anyone know which other units/regts the same happened to?.any help would be greatthank you.
