ThanksUsually the "bakelite" seat wasn't painted by the manufacturers but it happened the maintenance crews were ordered to paint them with the same colour the cockpit interior was. Generally leaving it of the red-brownish colour of the material it was made of , is more correct.
Thank you Andy, not Bakelite, got it.And just for clarity, the correct material name for the composite seats was SRBP or "Synthetic Resin Bonded Paper". The late, great Edgar Brooks went to his grave yelling "NOT BAKELITE!", even though some official documentation calls is that. This doesn't change anything in the answer to your question about the flare racks and seat colour. I too have always painted the "plastic" seats a red/brown colour.
I understand but acrylic paints doesn't hold up well on the PE ny it's self. I don't have split pea soup green in a lacquerThe armour would be the same as the interior - RAF Grey Green.
Naw, Mr. Surface 1500 brown. But if I'd known what I know now I wouldn't have chased down the Tamiya red brown.Ah, is that the primer ?
Sorry, thought it was the paint used for the seat.
I can see that happening. All is well Don. The colour of the seats varied between batches anyway.
Wasn't sure, it came this color on the Quinta but can be painted easily enough. Thank you.Nice. But the back cushion was of black IIRC.
