The masking has been removed from the plane so we can touch up the paint.
I glued the booth back in place, and what a surprise:
The front part doesn't match at all!!! What a surprise at an Italery...
Given the joy this brings me, I now dedicate myself to the missing pieces, which I will place after finishing the weathering process.
Let's move on to the next batch of photos.

It's something I should have foreseen or at least looked into. Anyway, the problem is fixed now; I used Mr. Dissolved Putty from Gunze, applying small layers to fill the inside.
Then I applied the paint with a brush, and added some effects that will be seen later; now they look like random brushstrokes.

If only I had looked at it before.... but oh well, layer by layer and with a 3/0 brush I filled the gap with dissolved putty and thus closed the space.

Good job on fixing!
Actually not. The model has the cockpit hood designed for attaching it open. So the central part , sliding back is a little bit "taller" to be put on the fuselage behind. What is more the part bottom edges are fitted for attaching it along to the slope running slideways. All that leads to the small difference between the horizontal line and the one for the attaching. So according to this I would say the front cockpit windscreen should be attached firstly and then the central one paying the attantion to the correct sitting with scratching/sanding of the edge both of the hood and cockpit opening. To sum up .. it is enough to make a little mistake, change the step order for instance and the gap appears there. So the rule " fit three times, glue once" is still the main one.

Thank you so much for this info, it's great for everyone to see, although the truth is that, as I intend to explain, the fault is in the front part; the rear is fixed with blue track so that it can later be opened as you mentioned.
It's OK. You did as you did and fixed it in a good way But as I mantioned fitting is the key ... more or less ..

Weekly summary. After seeing that the wax was dry, I applied the decals.
Well, we're now waiting for the decal sealant to dry; they're all in place and sealed.
Preparing the weathering,
for the moment I'm looking at photos of real aircraft to make it look as realistic as possible.
In this project, I didn't use the paint scaling; I applied it directly from the pot, and it looks too dark.
The rear clear coat is already glued in place. One question: all the Navy colors from this period are described as FS 1xxxx, so I understand they were glossy, but as they wear down, will they become saturated by the metal itself or will they become matte?
