Possibly this chap:

Sergeant DEREK POULSTON
Service Number: 998507
Regiment & Unit/Ship
Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve
226 Sqdn.
Date of Death
Died 15 October 1941
Age 23 years old
Buried or commemorated at
RUNNYMEDE MEMORIAL
Panel 50.
United Kingdom

However, his unit, 226 Sqn, never flew Hampdens. Battles and Blenheims, yes, but not Hampdens...so perhaps it's not him.

No dont think so. Also the gunner was a married man.

I think it's a cygnet ring rather than a wedding ring...it's on the wrong hand. Plus we don't know if Poulston was the man standing on the wing or the one in the gun position.

Regardless, it's probably not the same man given the difference in aircraft types.

And the LWS Żubr is the ugliest kite ....

:thumbright:
Is it? Is it really? With the all the data available to the Forum, is the Zubr the ugliest or is there something actually worse out there?
I have learned to put a lot of faith in your opinion. If you say it's the ugliest, it probably is. However, perhaps there's an aircraft that is so hideous that your mind has blocked it out. The way one's mind would suppress trauma.
