i know but i couldnt find if or why he should have been in Occupied France in 1941 and why he want wearing all his medal.

In December 1940 Yamashita was sent on a six-month clandestine military mission to Germany and Italy, where he met with Adolf Hitler on 16 June 1941 in Berlin as well as Benito Mussolini.. The images have been taken while visiting the KG53, near Calais, France just in December 1940. As memo serves there is more pics taken during the visit. No medals but the ribbons only what is quite characteristic for a mess kit but not for the formal dress , even today.
