I recall reading of one case in which the RAF shot down a Luftwaffe marked Vought Chesapeake, otherwise known as the Vought Vindicator.

I guess it was understandable that the Luftwaffe would use aircraft such as Hawk 75A's and various marks of Harvards as trainers in view of the fact that they were presented with some for free, but flying near an effective air force in a Chesapeake seems a bit dense. Of course I guess it was hardly any worse than a Fairy Battle.

So were the French.
It could have had a better fate, as its speed was very honorable for the times. It was :
- difficult to tale off and land ;
- rather nice to fly ;
- but complex to manufacture and poor workmanship ;
- its qualities were offset by poor tactics : a medium altitude bomber used at low altitude without escorts, an invitation to disaster with the Flak qualities ;
- a defensive armamentdifficult to use even with the 20 mm gun.

The Leo as I read it was as from stated. Not bad. It was the change of strategy and then the speed in wich all had to be build that was a thing.

Rex hangar has 2 good episodes on the why how, and ohhww god that is just to stupid.
