1800-1914....
World War One....
1918-1939....
Post War....
Modern....
Era of the Drones....
With these eras, where would you put anything about the Cold War 1947-1991?
Why doesn't it have its own thread in this group?
Just curious....
But, where would you post anything with the Cold War then, in Modern or Post War?
I sometimes think that this grouping is a bit odd and could've have been done better, making it before or after Vietnam is a bit weird I must say.
I wouldn't exactly call Vietnam to Present as Modern, with Vietnam ending in 1975, 50 years ago....
I'd rather say that Modern would be from 1991 when the cold war ended to present....
I mean, a 50 year old car, aircraft, motorcycle etc., etc., aren't really seen modern, right?
I'm 56 and definitely not modern!
Jan, The "Modern" here has a little bit broader meaning than you try to bring items like cars under this. We aren't the collectors of the artefacts. For them the kind of meaning may be important. But for us here the Modern has the historical meaning of the time frame that relates to the post WW2 period. In the way the "age" of cars, planes etc isn't as important as the people associated with those days. Certainly we may say the car is 50 years old but it is still modern historically because our reference point is the end of the WW2 but not the end of the war in the Vietnam. Well ... IMHO it's not worth getting worked up about, there's no point in worrying about it.
I have brought the idea of the renovation of this section to the Mod's board. Perhaps you may have an idea on how it should look like. Mods here are openminded for your suggestions.
You are modern compared to me, the way I see it.I wouldn't exactly call Vietnam to Present as Modern, with Vietnam ending in 1975, 50 years ago....

Wojtek, my very dear friend....
Not to worry, I'm not getting worked up (far from as worked up getting typing this, as my fingers hit more than one key at a time more often than I think is funny, I mean seriously!) or worry about it (not as much as I worry when I'll have my next pint of beer! ), so don't you worry about me worrying about it!
I only brought (dammit keys!) in the cars because how fast style at times changes, from being modern to being so yesterday, only a handful of cars are considered as being timeless. Even more so with aviation, where an aircraft is modern for about five minutes, or for as long as it takes from when you hand in your design (or ideas) and later return from your white throne visit or coffee break, thinking what the hell happened!?
I only brought (hang on a minute here) this up with the umpteen times I've been thinking "where on earth do I post this", only to after carefully reading the tea leaves, asking the cards, rolling the dices, shuffling empty beer glasses around and considering the alignment of the planets, posting it in X, Y or Z of this forum and hoping for the best!
I'm (oh for f*ck sake keys, give me a break) sure that there's plenty of clever cookies here on the forum that would have at least 9 3/4 good suggestions on how to improve it....them there Eras that is!
....and for you who wonder, no.....I don't use catnip!
Dear Pal,
OK. Having a cold I'm a littlle bit too distracted in using of the English Just wanted to say that no matter where you want to post, Just using the time priod as the key. As Shortround6 rightly pointed out if the A-26 bomber was a WW II aircraft or a Viet Nam aircraft. All that depends on the time we want to talking about. Generally it is a WW2 kite with the days of glory both at the WW2 and the war in the Vietnam. So if you want talk about the plane in general way you should post it in the WW2 section but if your thread is going to be about the Vietnam war you should use the Modern folder. Or the Post War one if you want to discuss the period of the time the plane was used at. And the way of sellection of folders here for posting always seemed to me working correct.
BTW ... you aren't alone at the hitting more than one key at a time while typing. Please remember Poles have also ą, ę, ć, ś ó, ł, ń, ż and źą. And this is the real deal to select the letters while entering them quickly with the kind of the keyboard. About when being a little buzzed I don't mention at all.
As always good buddy, it's a joy and pleasure to talk with you!
Doesn't the Polish language change if you talk, write, to a male or female, like Spanish, or do remember wrong?
Then again, should you also be somewhat gassed up, slightly intoxicated, been heavily into the libations, let's not go there....
