F4F oil leak indicators

What would be the symptoms of a hit to the oil line of an F4f-4? Eventually the engine would seize, but in the meantime, what happens?

Are we streaming smoke? Does the manifold pressure gauge go up? (or down.) Do other instruments start acting funny? Funny sounds from the engine?

If oil was spraying on the exhaust you would get smoke then a fire. Oil pressure and temperature would be affected as well.

Not the same airplane, but an F8F crashed in San Diego at the Brown Field during an air race in 1971 (1:05 in the video). The smoke led the fire by 10 seconds and is not in the video. Cause was a broken oil line.
