Are we streaming smoke? Does the manifold pressure gauge go up? (or down.) Do other instruments start acting funny? Funny sounds from the engine? Thanks!

Dec 17, 2020 #2 Buster01 Airman 30 26 Apr 26, 2010 Bardstown, KY If oil was spraying on the exhaust you would get smoke then a fire. Oil pressure and temperature would be affected as well. Not the same airplane, but an F8F crashed in San Diego at the Brown Field during an air race in 1971 (1:05 in the video). The smoke led the fire by 10 seconds and is not in the video.
